The Biggest Challenges That You Could Face When Planning Your Wedding

Planning your wedding is stressful, all-consuming, and overwhelming. It can lead to sleepless nights, strained relationships, and thoughts of ‘Why did we get engaged at all?’. To stem this stress and know what you are up against, it is best that you acknowledge and prepare for many of the top challenges that you may have to confront in the course of your wedding planning. Here are just some of them.

1. Dramatic Guests

Any event that forms a connection between dozens of people who may not have seen each other for years can be the catalyst for drama. Just because people love you, that does not mean that they love your other friends or relatives. Feuds can arise, hidden resentments can bubble over, and your wedding can end on a sour note if you are not careful. To prevent your guests from taking the spotlight away from you, you should try to invite only the people who support you and who you want to invite. You should also be careful with your table plans, and ensure that people are sitting with people with whom they get along.

2. Last Minute Disasters

Last-minute changes of plan are sometimes inevitable, and there is no point worrying about them. They can happen to just about anyone. Your DJ might be double-booked. Your best man might be sick. To prevent these ordinary disasters from causing your wedding to end in tears, you should make sure that you always have a back-up plan. You should also stay calm in the face of an emergency, and make the most of your big day, no matter what happens. After all, how many wedding days does one person get?

3. The Catering

If there is one element that your guests will remember, it is the food. After all, humans are a food-orientated species. How many horror stories have you heard, however, of wedding-related food poisoning and dry, crusty and wilted meals? Rather than allowing your catering to upset stomachs around your wedding breakfast, you should look for an experienced and reliable catering company. They will be able to cater to your guests’ needs, ensure that everyone leaves with a full stomach, and make certain that there is a dish available for just about everyone and their culinary tastes. This means that you should never cut corners with your wedding catering.

4. Your Budget

Money does not grow on trees, and most people do not have an endless budget for their wedding days. Rather than allow your budget to run away with you, you should make sure that you budget appropriately and far in advance, portioning money out in accordance with the importance of the cost in question. You should split your budget into essentials and non-essentials, and ensure that there is room for scope creep, as there should be in any project. You should also establish where this money is coming from, including your savings, family, or, in some cases, a loan which you will pay back over the course of a few years.
